In October 2013, inCOMMON Community Development partnered with Omaha by Design to host a Place Game workshop to evaluate the four corners of the Park Avenue and Woolworth intersection. 17 people attended. Attached is the full report, but these were some of the highlights that could possibly be integrated into the Hanscom Park renovation plan: |

• Add benches/planters/landscaping along the sidewalk • Cut back the overgrown foliage on the park corner • Repair fence on park corner • Repair sidewalks and curbs/redesign sidewalk, crosswalk to incorporate trees, artwork, etc. • Repaint the crosswalks/Make pedestrian crosswalks into the park • Add cool-looking trash/recycling cans on each corner • Community programming space at the corners (amphitheatre?) • Built deck into the park from park corner, add steps to ground level • Add castle playground, potential spraypark at park corner • Add a sculpture at the Park Avenue Towers corner • Make a path/trail/bridge from the northeast corner of Hanscom Park to the dog park • Repair the trail • Add a bike rack on the west side of Park Avenue Towers • Add a Hanscom Park sign/neighborhood marker on the park’s northeast corner • Better lighting (street lamps below streetlights) • Add fitness stations • Add a second community garden at the southeast corner • Add traffic calming devices • Basketball and football fields |
